Cooling the body after cardiac arrest
December 12th, 2006 — learncprUSA Today published an article titled “To treat cardiac arrest, doctors cool the body” 12/10/06. It was e-mailed to me by a few people and I thought it worthy of a post. The article talks about increased survival rates for cardiac arrest victims if their body is cooled shortly after resuscitation.
There is a second story with this that is interesting because it is about the “save” of a worker at Medtronic ERS, a manufacturer of AEDs or defibrillators.
